"Both sides have taken concrete decisions to accelerate this process," the UN chief said in an interview published Saturday by the Spanish daily "El Mundo".
He said the UN will work to "accelerate" the pace of negotiations to reach a solution to the long-standing issue, adding that the most important is that the parties to this conflict can achieve an agreement.
The UN can only facilitate dialogue between the concerned parties, a task that requires the political support of key stakeholders who need to create a favourable political climate, he said, stressing, in this regard, the role that Spain, the United States and France could play.
