The Moroccan autonomy initiative for the southern provinces "is not one of options, but rather the definitive solution" to settle the Sahara issue, the Spanish journalist and wrtier Chema Gil has said.

The initiative responds fully to the aspirations of the majority of Sahrawis who wish to return to the fatherland, Morocco, and live in peace and dignity, he told MAP.

Gil called on polisario to free the Sahrawi populations from the state of servitude they are enduring in the camps of Tindouf on the Algerian soil to enable them to join their homeland.

He also laid bare the glaring human rights violations committed by polisario in Tindouf, including rape and forced procreation to increase the number of the population, "a serious violation of human dignity."

In the camps of Tindouf, "nobody can freely express opinions," as evidenced by the case of Mustapha Salma Ould Sidi Mouloud, who was arrested and tortured for having declared support for the Moroccoan autonomy proposal.

It is confirmed that the members of the polisario work for terrorist organisations and commit criminal acts in the Sahel-Sahara region, he warned.

On changes taking place in Morocco, Gil insisted that HM King Mohammed VI continues to send strong signals to boost profound changes in the Kingdom, highlighting the far-reaching economic and social projects.
