"The United States continues to believe that the Moroccan autonomy proposal is a serious and credible plan," the US official said at a joint news conference with Moroccan foreign minister Taib Fassi Fihri.

    He noted that his country continues to support the efforts of the UN's secretarty-general and his personal envoy to find a peaceful and mutually agreeable solution to the Sahara issue.
