Polisario's elements, backed by Spanish lobbies hostile to Morocco, banned on Monday afternoon Moroccan young actors from participating in a workshop of the Forum.
The Moroccan press was also denied access to the workshop, unlike the Spanish press called in reinforcements for a propaganda operation that is bending the rules governing this space for democratic dialogue.
"(...) Access was denied to some participants under the arbitrary pretext that they are part of the Moroccan delegation," said a statement signed by the National Council of Moroccans living in Senegal.
This ban is a blatant violation of the WSF's Charter, and a discriminatory practice contrary to the spirit of the Forum, the signatories of the statement added.
The Moroccan participants also expressed outrage at "the fact that such acts and practices are supported by MEP Peter Galant," notorious for his subservience to the Algerian regime and his hostility to Morocco, who was in charge of moderating the debate of this workshop.
"As participants in this workshop, we emphasize the seriousness of these events that undermine the values and principles of the World Social Forum and, therefore, universal democratic values", said the signatories of the statement, calling on "the organizers to assume their responsibility and make every effort to ensure that such acts do not happen again.
