In a conference themed "new perspectives on human rights in the Sahara", Quesada recalled the historical aspect of the Sahara issue, affirming that there are historical ties uniting the Sahara's tribes with the different Moroccan regions.

    These tribes have always sworn allegiance to the Sultans of Morocco who supported them in their fight against the Spanish occupation, he underlined.

    Quesada noted the different reforms undertaken under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, stressing the achievements made by Morocco in the area of democratization.
