The members of France's National Assembly delegation hailed, on Thursday in Laayoune (Morocco's South), the process of development that the Moroccan southern provinces enjoy as well as the climate of stability and security prevailing in the region.

In a statement to the press following a meeting with the Wali of Laayoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra region Khalil Dkhil, the chairman of the French-Moroccan Friendship group Jean Roatta commended the "remarkable human development achieved in different socio-economic sectors in the region and the efforts made to improve the living-conditions of the local population."

He added that this visit is an opportunity for the French delegation in order to be informed about the situation and get all necessary data on the Laayoune's event.

Recalling the excellent Moroccan-French relations, Roatta reiterated his country’s support for Morocco’s issue regarding the Sahara issue.

For his part, the French MP François Grosdidier said that “the members of the delegation are all impressed by the sustainable and human development that the southern provinces see.”

It is a sustainable development which aims to create wealth, while taking into consideration respect for environment and renewable energies, he pointed out.

He also applauded the climate of stability and security prevailing in Morocco’s southern provinces, which represents, for him, “a development model for the whole region.”
