Argentinian deputy Minister for external relations Alberto Pedro D'Alloto reiterated, on Wednesday, his country's stance in support of a solution of consensus for the Sahara issue, within the framework of Morocco's territorial integrity.

In a statement to the press following a meeting with Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri, D'Alloto underlined that the Moroccan autonomy initiative for the Sahara will lead to a peaceful settlement for this issue.

"We hope that all the parties to this issue reach an agreement and try to find a peaceful and lasting solution to the Sahara issue," he said.

The Argentinian official said that his visit to the Kingdom is part of the political consultations between the two countries, scheduled on Thursday in Rabat. These yearly consultations are meant for discussing and exchanging viewpoints on the regional and international situation.

He also said that his meeting with Fassi Fihri was an occasion to explore ways and means to further develop trade ties, and bilateral technical, scientific and technological relations.
