Rguibat-Sellam tribe leaders and dignitaries urged the UN and human rights NGOs to intervene for the release of all the persons arrested in the Tindouf camps, condemning this situation that violates human dignity and human rights.

They called, in a press release on Monday, for the immediate release of all the persons arrested following the peaceful sit-in staged by members of the Rguibat-Sellam tribe in protest against the barbaric aggression and kidnapping of a member of the tribe, namely Ahmed Ould Mahmoud Ould Allal, by the so-called Polisario’s gendarmerie in Rabouni (near Tindouf) on Saturday.

They also reiterated their constant mobilization of the tribe members to lay bare the lies of the separatists to Sahrawis, voicing their support to Mustapha Salma Ould Sidi Mouloud.

In this respect, the tribe leaders and dignitaries called on the UN and human rights NGOs to support Ould Sidi Mouloud and endeavor so that he could join his family and relatives in the Tindouf camps and to ensure his safety and his right to the freedom of speech.

They also asked the UN Refugee Agency and the other UN organizations to intervene so that Sellam tribe members could join their motherland, Morocco.
