A Moroccan-Gabonese Committee Supporting to the Moroccan autonomy proposal in the Sahara has been created recently in Libreville by Gabonese politicians and academics.

This initiative expresses the adoption of African good will of the Moroccan courageous and realistic solution to end this artificial conflict that hampers the integration and building efforts in North Africa, say the founding members of this Committee.

This new support Committee was created at the sidelines of a conference on the Sahara issue held recently in Libreville by the Moroccan-Senegalese Committee supporting the autonomy proposal in the Sahara, set up last April in Dakar .

At the conference on the theme "Autonomy Plan for the Moroccan Sahara: territorial governance," Professor Tlaty Tariq, president of the Moroccan Center for Strategic Studies and Research, presented the Moroccan autonomy initiative in the southern provinces that has been welcomed by the international community.

In addition to the support expressed by great nations, the Saharawi population fully supports this proposal as evidenced by the hundreds of Sahrawi who started to flee the Tindouf camps to join the motherland, Morocco, he said.

Several politicians, intellectuals, academics and representatives of civil society took part in the meeting.
