Major Event

Sixteen people have recently returned to the motherland after years of deprivation in Tindouf camps.

Members of this group, including four women and eight children, managed to escape Tindouf camps to join their relatives in the city of Laayoune.

With the return of members of this group, including adults aged 22-36 years, the number of people who arrived in Laayoune after fleeing the camps of Tindouf since March 25 reached 503, including 88 women and 60 children.

One member of the group, El-Hafed Mohamed Ould El Kacem (36 years), expressed his delight to be back to his country, Morocco.

Describing the "prehistoric" conditions in the Tindouf camps, he called on sequestered people to seize any opportunity to respond to the Royal call: "Homeland is forgiving and merciful."

For his side, Mahjoubi Taqiou (22), said he returned to the motherland to escape the ordeal and hardship he endured in those camps, welcoming the warmth of the welcome reserved to the group at their arrival to their country.
