Major Event

A group of 57 Sahrawis, including 18 women and 11 children, has recently escaped the Tindouf camps, south-western Algeria, and joined their homeland, Morocco.

The return of this group brings to 433 the number of people who have succeeded to escape the camps of Tindouf since March 25, 2010. This includes 81 women and 49 children.

The members of the group told MAP that their return mirrors the discontent of the population held against their will in Tindouf camps with the tragic living conditions in the camps.

They also called on the forcibly detained population in the camps to grab any opportunity to return to their homeland, where they can lead a dignified life among their families.
