Major Event

The famous singer and Mauritanian MP MAALOUM Ben Al Midah expressed Saturday her support to the project of autonomy in the southern provinces proposed by Morocco to definitively resolve the conflict artificial Sahara.

"The autonomy initiative is a strategic solution to solve the problem of the Sahara," she wrote in "the support register for the initiative of autonomy", made available to the public and visitors of the " Sea and Desert " festival by the regional section of Oued-Eddahab-Lagouira of the Association of" the league of supporters of autonomy in Moroccan Saharan provinces "to collect their stories and opinions about this initiative.

The register was opened Saturday in the signatures of visitors at the association stand at the exposure of traditional tents on "Al-Mountazah" place in Dakhla with the stated goal of league members to gather, no less than 45,000 signatures, a number equivalent to the total visitors to the festival.

According to Mr. Mohamed Yddas, president of the local section of the association, the establishment of this "record support for the initiative of autonomy" reflects the mobilization of civil society in the southern provinces to defend the initiative and explain its content to visitors, including foreigners, in the peninsula at this international festival.

It fits, he said, under the action of the League to consolidate parallel diplomacy and implement the content of the royal speech to the nation on the occasion of the Green March in which the sovereign called all forces of the nation to greater mobilization to defend the just cause of the Kingdom's territorial integrity, the sources added.

This action provides the same opportunity for League members to explain to visitors the festival maneuvers of the enemies of territorial integrity and their actions to prevent any serious and realistic solution to this problem.

Created last October, the league is a non-governmental organization including representatives from various Sahrawi tribes in the southern provinces and has several regional branches within the Kingdom and abroad.
