In a summary statement based on the conclusions of the international NGOs about the disturbing situation of human rights in the detention camps of tindouf, the confederation recalls the multiple exactions and violations of the basic rights
Referring to the report elaborated by the American NGO: US committee for refugees and immigrants (USCRI), the Ivoirian confederation deplored that the freedom of movement of persons living in the camps are strictly controlled
A copy of statement of the Ivorian confederation was handed over to the presidency, the prime minister, to the Ivoirian parliament, in addition to a number of Embassies among others the French and American embassies and the UN office. the content of the statement in question mentions the inhuman persecutions inflicted to the Sahraoui detainees in the Tindouf camps as soon as they try to defy the the dictatorship imposed on them by the Polisario front .
The confederation underlined the existence at Tindouf of different detention centers; it denounces the diversion of the humanitarian aid destined to the Tindouf detainees and deplores the systematic refusal of Algiers to give access to the international organisations in order to organise a census of the inhabitants of Tindouf
To conclude the confederation of Ivoirian associations calls the Algerian government to “take the initiative to denounce and condemn those guilty of exaction and act within the framework of the respect of obligations and commitments of the 1951 convention concerning the status of refugees and its protocol of 1967 which implies the rejection of any ill treatment to the refugees and their families
