The SG of the Corcas, who was expressing himself, within the framework of the caravan debate about the autonomy project for the Moroccan Sahara, placed under the high patronage of his majesty King Mohamed VI, indicated that the southern provinces have known unprecedented development in the economic, social, and cultural fields under the enlightened leadership of his majesty King Mohamed VI, with the aim to improving the conditions of life of the inhabitants. the various socioeconomic projects carried out in these provinces under the reign of his Majesty king Mohamed VI, he noted, have completely transformed the region in a dynamic space of economic growth and social progress, a freedom of expression and a cultural boom, within the framework of a coherent approach which takes into account the local specificity of the region,answers to the aspirations of its inhabitants and insure their participation to the exciting work of rehabilitation. 

 Mr Ben Khalihenna has mentioned in this framework that Laayoune has become the first town of south of Morocco proclaimed as “town without slum”, adding that 10 989 unhealthy accommodations were demolished, and the rehousing of more than 60 000 people which cost 1.7 billion Dhs. the investment efforts which put the region in a good position  at the national level, in terms of development , have been  reinforced by actions realized within the framework of the national initiative for the human development , launched in 2005 by his majesty the king Mohammed VI  . He pointed out that this building site grants a special interest to put an end tot he social deficit, was elaborated at the level of the southern provinces through initiatives aiming at the progress of the whole region

  He asserted that the reinforcement of the infrastructure, the eradication of unhealthy houses, the strengthening of collective equipments and the industrial zones, the support of social projects , the promotion of the investment, are huge projects which aims at achieving prosperity and progress in all regions .

 The general secretary of the Royal advisory council for Saharan affairs added that these achievements were carried out following the high instructions of his majesty king Mohammed VI which aims at creating a modern Morocco has got a special meaning, thanks to what was achieved in favour of the inhabitants of the southern provinces, they are achievements which required to be strengthened with view of establishing an advanced regionalization
