A U.S. delegation comprising MPS, Ambassadors, former officials and lawyers met Wednesday in Laayoune (Southern Morocco) with representatives of the Association of the missing in Polisario jails and the League of Human rights defenders in the Sahara.

The meeting was an opportunity to inform the U.S. delegation about latest developments of Sahara issue following the steps made against Aminatou Haidar, who renounced her Moroccan nationality and a group of sahrawis who made suspicious trips to the Polisario Tindouf Camps (South-East Algeria).

During the meeting, representatives of Sahrawi human rights groups denounced the mischievous acts of these persons who undermined Moroccan people's feelings in connivance with the enemies of the country's territorial integrity.

They also affirmed that such ungrateful acts will not thwart Morocco's efforts engaged to further consolidate the democratic process and enlarge the scope of liberties within the frame of the full respect of the state of law.

The Sahawi human rights representatives called on the American public opinion to be wary of the false and misleading information circulated on Morocco by the propaganda machine of the Polisario mercenaries, backed by Algeria.
