Several Heads of State and delegations participating in the 64 session of the General Assembly of the United Nations renewed support for the territorial integrity of Morocco and its position over the Sahara.



The Gambian President Hadj Yahya Jammeh, confirmed on Thursday evening at New York, "full support" for the territorial integrity of Morocco.
 
The Gambian president said, in his intervention during the 64 work session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, "My delegation reiterates its full support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco".

Mr. Jammeh added "we remain convinced that the Moroccan initiative to grant autonomy to the Sahara regions on the basis of extensive negotiations sponsored by the UN Security Council, by agreement between the parties, will reach a final and peaceful solution to the conflict." 

  The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic Carlos Morales Trancaus, stressed his country's support to Morocco on the Sahara issue.
 
He told the Arab Maghreb News Agency, following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Taib Fassi Fahri: "We are with Moroccans. Morocco knows that it can rely on us in all forums."

  The President of the Union of the Comoros, Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi, reiterated his country's “firm” support for the territorial integrity of Morocco. 
 
Mr. Mohamed Sambi, said in his intervention during the 64 work session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Union of the Comoros renew "unwavering support" for the Kingdom of Morocco in the "legitimate efforts to maintain its territorial integrity."

On the other hand, President Mohamed Sambi added that "peace and security remain the prerequisites for the promotion of Socioeconomic development," stressing that "the conflicts taking place in many regions of the world require from us to intervene."
