Morocco's project of granting autonomy to its southern provinces remains a "very important initiative" to settle the Sahara issue, visiting Advisor to Paraguayan president, Alejandro Hamed Franco, said on Sunday.



Following a meeting with Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri, Franco told the press that the Moroccan officials gave him explanations about the autonomy proposal, which confirm that the project is a very important initiative to solve the issue.

   Franco said he was upbeat about the future of bilateral relations, noting that the two countries are endeavouring to bolster bilateral cooperation and implement agreement signed in this regard.

   For his part, Fassi Fihri said the meeting was an occasion to inform the Paraguayan party about the latest developments of the national cause, highlighting that the Latin American country is reacting positively to the autonomy proposal.
