This initiative, described as serious and credible by the Security Council, is the ideal political solution for the settlement of this regional dispute, said the Friendship Group in a joint statement signed with the Parliamentary Morocco -Italian Friendship Group "friendship with Italy".
This declaration was signed on the sidelines of the ceremony for the official announcement of the establishment of Parliamentary Morocco -Italian Friendship Group, said the release.
The group also expressed its support for reform projects initiated by Morocco in various fields, including gender equality, expansion of freedoms, freedom of expression, respect of human rights and political pluralism.
In addition, it expressed its support to the deep political reforms initiated in the Kingdom which enabled it to enjoy the respect of the international community, stressing that these reforms, as well as those created in the economic and social fields have led Morocco to benefit from the advanced status in its relations with the EU.
The declaration also stresses that the creation of an Italian-Moroccan Friendship Group seeks to coordinate positions between the legislative bodies of both countries at the regional and international levels to promote peace and stability and contribute to the spread of peace, tolerance and understanding between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
The Group also aims to promote the role of parliamentary diplomacy in order to further strengthen bilateral relations.
This statement was signed by Abdelhamid Saâdaoui and Said Chbaatou as well as Benedito Adrania and Enrico Bianita.
On this occasion, the Group expressed its satisfaction over the level of bilateral relations, reiterating its determination to work to promote these relations in various fields.
It also expressed its readiness to support the Moroccan community established in Italy to facilitate its integration into Italian society.
The Parliamentary Friendship Group is composed of 111 members representing various political representations in Parliament.
