Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mustapha Mansouri, criticized, here Wednesday , the partiality of a draft report of the European Parliament on the visit to Morocco of a delegation of European MPs that was deliberately leaked to the press.

Mansouri pointed to the discrepancies contained in the report, which, he said, neither takes into account Morocco's achievements in Human rights nor the momentum created by its autonomy initiative that the United Nations Security Council had described as "serious and credible".

By publishing this biased text, the enemies of Morocco's territorial integrity have tried to "blur the positive reactions Morocco's autonomy for the Sahara had received and continues to receive from several capitals," the Speaker of Morocco's lower house told the press at the end of the 5th plenary session of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA).

He considered that the document obscured a report of the World Food Program (WFP) on the embezzlement of the humanitarian aid destined to Tindouf camps, south-western Algeria, as well as the positions expressed by several international NGOs to condemn the Human Rights breaches perpetrated by the separatists in those camps.

The document presents an erroneous assessment of the situation in Morocco's southern provinces, Mansouri added, making it clear that the EP delegation was duly tasked with producing a report on the situation of human rights and had no right to give political assessments on the Sahara, a task that falls within the jurisdiction of the UN.
