The historical significance of UN Resolution 2797 was highlighted in Bologna during a meeting held last Saturday in the Italian city of Bologna, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the triumphant Green March.

Researchers and academics affirmed on Monday in Casablanca that UN Security Council Resolution 2797 on the Moroccan Sahara represents a historic turning point, culminating the tireless diplomatic efforts undertaken by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Sir Liam Fox, British MP and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Abraham Accords, praised the insightful and steady “patient diplomacy” led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI following the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2797 on the Moroccan Sahara.

The High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Members of the Liberation Army affirmed that commemorating the 50th anniversary of the triumphant Green March, at a time when Morocco is entering a new phase in consolidating its sovereignty over the Sahara.
