Following the emergency meeting of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, on Monday, April 16th in Rabat,  Mr. Khallihenna Ould Errachid made the following statement to the press:


Statement by Mr. President after the end of the special session in Laayoune

"As you know we have now concluded this special session held by order of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to considerer the latest developments on the Sahara, especially with regard to the first round of negotiations that took place on the outskirts of New York aiming at finding final solution to this issue. This session was an opportunity to study the details and the course of these negotiations. Members discussed and took part in a constructive manner. Of course, they all supported the policy by the King to establish the final solution. This final solution was recognized by all that it can only be through the application of autonomy initiative as a final, just, thorough and satisfactory to all parties and considered by international law as real and firm self-determination".
