A delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, headed by the Vice-President of the Council, Mr. Moussaoui Khaddad held talks on Tuesday in Brussels with a number of European deputies and officials.


The Moroccan delegation, which also includes Mr. Sidati Mohammed Abdellah Glaoui, member of the Council, Mr. Janis Oneskukis Vice-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, Raemon Obiols Igerma  Chairman of the Committee in charge of relations with the countries of Central America, and Alexander Stetzman Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the European Parliament.

Mr. Moussaoui told MAP news agency at the conclusion of these meetings, the Moroccan delegation presented to the European Congress the History and evolution of the Sahara issue, in addition to the outline of autonomy proposal ", which was finalized by Saharans, which is the solution out of the impasse current enabling Moroccans detained against their will on the Algerian territory to meet their families. "

The European Mps positively received the Moroccan approach based on dialogue and consultation, expressing their willingness to contribute to the efforts undertaken at various levels for the final settlement of this issue.

The Moroccan delegation met with European with Mr. Stephen Stenberg Director of humanitarian operations, and raised the attention of European officials several times to the diversion of humanitarian assistance by Polisario and the situation of Moroccans detained on Algerian soil in Tindouf.
 
The vice president of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs expressed thanks to the European official and, through him, to all the European institutions for the assistance provided to the Moroccans detained in the camps, noting that Stenberg said that his institution would ensure strict control in order to bring this aid to those who are in need. 

"Mr. Moussaoui added that the European head praised the spirit of dialogue and openness shown by Morocco in order to reach a settlement of this issue.

The delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, who arrived in Brussels on Tuesday, continues its contacts on Wednesday.
