Mr. Boussif, who was speaking before the 4th Committee of the United Nations, also said he chose to live in his country, Morocco, where he enjoys "full rights of citizenship" since he ensures himself the management of his region with other members of the Regional Council democratically elected.
He added that he chose "to join a construction and unity project when others chose to enroll in a process advocating separatism, destruction and dissemination of a violence and destruction culture".
Having highlighted the "bold statements" by the Personal Envoy of UN Secretary-General for the Sahara that Sahara's independence is impracticable, he stressed that the establishment of autonomy is the appropriate solution because it is the balance that respects Sahrawi characteristics and culture.
This solution, said Boussif guarantees local populations to manage their own affairs in their region within a democratic framework.
