Saadani Maouelainin, member of the Royal Advisory Council on Saharan Affairs (Corcas), paid a working visit to Mexico on May 12, in particular in the federal capital of Mexico City and Campeche south-east of Mexico.


The Chamber of Deputies of the Mexican Parliament addressed an invitation to Saadani Maouelainin to allow MEPs to know the militant path in the field of human rights of Saharawi women in the context of the regional conflict on the Moroccan Sahara.




The objective is also to present to them a presentation on the two Moroccan and Mexican experiences in the field of the culture of peace and human rights.

In recognition of her militant actions and in the field of human rights at the international level, Ms. Saadani Maouelainin also received a strong tribute from the Chamber of Deputies and from the "Universidad Internacional de México Blanco ", (International University of Mexico Blanco), which awarded her Doctorate Honoris Causa in the field of education and culture of peace and leadership and social development.

The guests of the Corcas member were also invited to make a visit to the headquarters of the Mexican Congress, which consists of the two chambers (Senate and Chamber of Deputies), as well as the Center for Studies on the Development of Conditions of Women and Gender Equality (CEMEG), which contributed to the meeting.


She was then interviewed by ASL.TV Web TV specialized in talks of great personalities and prominent leaders.

Ms. Saadani Maouelainin's working visit continued in southern Mexico, particularly in the Campeche State on the Gulf of Mexico in the Yucatan peninsula.


The guest discussed, in particular, with the members of the Council of the Partido Revolucionario Institutionnal, which is member of the Socialist International and one of the largest Mexican parties.


On the occasion of this visit, a ceremony to honour the relations between the State of Campeche and Morocco took place around the theme of culture of peace and human rights.


Saadani Maouelainin gave a presentation on the situation of the Saharawi woman in the Moroccan Sahara and, on the other hand, at the Tindouf camps in Algeria, where the Sahrawi people live in an extreme situation of repression and poverty.
