Khaddad Moussaoui, Vice chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), has participated in the seminar in the Pacific region, organized by the Fourth Nations Commission in Nicaragua, May 31 to June 02, 2016.


The work of the seminar was devoted to monitoring the implementation of the recommendations of the third decade of decolonization (2011-2020), through the procedures established in the Territories.

In this context, Khaddad Moussaoui made a major presentation on the initiative taken by the Kingdom to grant broad autonomy to the Sahara region, which was retrieved by Morocco in the context of the decolonization of its regions that were colonized by Spain and its struggle for the fulfillment of its territorial integrity.

A process of decolonization, which had a peaceful nature and that is achieved through negotiation in the mid 70s of last century, in the context of an international agreement registered with the United Nations.

Vice chairman mentioned in this context the importance of the Moroccan initiative, which was welcomed by the 10 resolutions of the Security Council devoted to the Sahara issue since 2007, when the Kingdom has presented its proposal to UN, calling the international community to act to support efforts to benefit the Sahara region of the autonomy process, applying with the recommendations of the third decade of the 4th Commission.
