According to a statement of the Association, "what a small group of supporters of the Polisario at this conference hoped to be a success for separatist propaganda on the eve of the next UN deadline turned to derision" when participants took the floor to reveal Polisario deception by exposing democratic advances in the Kingdom and climate of freedom and momentum of development experienced by the southern provinces.

Lahcen Mahraoui, member of CORCAS and spokesman of ATSME, the Association of Moroccan Sahrawi Tribes in Europe, who took part in the meeting, said in this press release that despite intimidation methods to confiscate Unionists voice, the strength of the arguments and documents distributed by Moroccans in Melbourne were able to convince participants about the correctness of the national cause and fallacy of the separatist thesis.

The audience could see that the inhabitants of the Saharan provinces lead normal lives, actively participate in socio-economic and cultural development with full respect for human rights in the different cities of the Moroccan Sahara.

The audience has also witnessed the serious, credible and realistic dimension of the Moroccan autonomy proposal in the southern provinces that allow people of the Moroccan Sahara to run their local affairs and contribute fully to the economic and social development in their region.
