In these camps, thousands of people were tortured and denied their most fundamental economic and social rights, Maoulainine told the 11th plenary session of the UN body (June 2-19).
These people, she deplored, are victims of the worst and most demeaning forms of torture and many of them died.
Maoulainine, who made it clear that the principle of self-determination does not mean separatism, said that the autonomy proposed by Morocco is a form of self-determination that is recognized by the United Nations as it enables people to run their own affairs.
