Here is the English version of the interview:
Al Jazeera: Mr Ould Errachid, let me start with Clinton’s call to resume negotiations between Morocco and Polisario front, how did Rabat welcome it particularly that the invitation followed the Algerian foreign affairs minister visit (to Washington)?
Mr Khalihenna Ould Errachid: This invitation is the position of the international community, to resume the suspended negotiations, in order to reach the solution advocated by the security council, a resolution through negotiations and dialogue, Morocco is always ready to resume these negotiations at any time, and with good intentions, as he did in the previous four rounds and also in the latest informal meeting
Al Jazeera: well Ould Errachid, concerning Aminatou’s issue, this affair is currently rising up plenty of polemic….. Why does Morocco insist that Aminatou should apologize to be able to go back home?
Mr Khalihenna : because Mrs Aminatou Haidar made so many mistakes in this issue related to her situation, because she denied her nationality, and did everything in contradiction with her life for the last forty years
Al Jazzeera: ……. what do you mean by this?
Mr Khalihenna: during the last forty years Aminatou Haidar was a Moroccan citizen, and enjoyed her entire rights, without any restrictions, she travels, and expresses her opposition as a Moroccan, suddenly she denied her Moroccan nationality, and followed an inappropriate way, that is why it is a must to ….
Al Jazeera: …..but she would like to go back to laayoune, in the Western Sahara, to her homeland in laayoune
Mr Khalihenna: Western Sahara is not her country, Western Sahara is a Moroccan region, Western Sahara is an integral part of the kingdom of Morocco, and there is nothing to prove the contrary. That is why she is Moroccan like the entire inhabitants of the region, and she used to enjoy this quality as I mentioned and travelled with the Moroccan passport, and had a Moroccan ID, suddenly she denied this identity for political purposes, outside the framework of work she used to do, so to get back her previous situation……
Al Jazeera: …..yes, but we know that the issue has become humanitarian, and there is an international interest about it, how do you see the solution?
Mr Khalihenna: humanitarian questions have nothing to do with the fact that she infringed the homeland and its main interests, and work for foreign interests. We regret the Humanitarian situation of Aminatou Haidar, as she is the one who led herself to this situation. Once has to say that her hunger strike in the Canary Islands is a voluntary strike, ie: a personal choice of Mrs Aminatou haidar pushed by Polisario and Algeria. She can stop this action anytime and go back to her homeland.
