In an article of the writer Mohamed Abou Hazim, published Tuesday on his electronic site, the daily stresses that Morocco has presented the autonomy project as a peaceful initiative for settling the conflict around the Sahara, inspired by the United Nations’ proposals and the international standards recognized in this issue.
Any observer of the Moroccan policy can notice that it is characterized by serenity and discernment, particularly concerning the territorial integrity, estimates the writer, stressing that the serene dialogue and refusal to cede to provocations “constitute the qualities of the Moroccan policy”.
As an example, Abou Hazim mentions Morocco’s peaceful claim to the occupied cities Ceuta and Melilla, under the Spanish occupation.
The Green March organized in 1975 for the Sahara recovery represents one of the main foundations of the national unanimity around the territorial integrity, the Sahara issue being a point of encounter for all the Moroccans.
Algeria is a part in the conflict, stresses furthermore the writer of the article, evoking in this regard the closure of its borders with Morocco despite the neighborhood links and the shared Arab-Islamic culture.
