The paper added that this solution “realizes minimum claims by Morocco to preserve its national territorial integrity”. It guarantees Saharan people the right to express their cultural and civilization specificities as well as the management of their internal affairs”.
It considered that this medium solution “will not end the problem only but will also normalize relationship between Morocco and Algeria and give life again to Arab Mahgreb.
The newspaper said that “undoubtedly, the solution lies in the hands of Morocco and Algeria as two major players in this issue; therefore, they are the ones to achieve agreement relating to the settlement of the Sahara issue through political willingness.
In this respect, it added that Algeria which is backing Polisario and hosting its leaders thinks that Morocco’s recovery of the Sahara threatens its territorial power. In addition, it is trying to win an outlet for it exports at the Atlantic"
The newspaper said that the referendum, which the United Nations had put forward faced " real complications" on the ground due to differences over the definition of the right to participate in voting, "which encouraged the international organization to recognize the difficulty of this solution".
