 The ambassador of Spain in Morocco, Luis Planas, said in an interview to Assahra Al Maghribiya and Le Matin published on Monday, that the Moroccan proposal to grant autonomy to the southern provinces "can be a platform for dialogue for the international community".



  Mr. Planas added that "the Spanish government confirmed that the Moroccan proposal could, when submitted to the United Nations, be a base for dialogue for the international community for direct negotiations between the parties concerned within the framework of the UN."

    He added that Madrid expressed this position at the visit of the Moroccan ministerial delegation to Spain, where the Spanish officials gave an outline of the Moroccan proposal to grant autonomy to the southern provinces.

    Mr. Planas said, " a friendly country, we support dialogue in order to settle this issue which hinders development in the region.
