The journalist Michael Streimer in an article published Thursday in the German paper " De Welt " that The settlement of the Sahara dispute that has lasted for decades is critical for peace and stability in the region. 



After mentioning that "Morocco will submit next April to the United Nations an autonomy project under Moroccan sovereignty" he explained that "self-determination will be possible for Sahrawis."

The journalist clarified that the autonomy project will relate to "economic, social, linguistic and cultural issues" adding that this project is inspired by European experiences. 

   the journalist noted that " Algeria neighbour is not interested by this initiative,"adding that "Algeria has always sponsored Sahara conflict by providing weapons and financial support to Polisario and keeping quarter of the population of Saharan nomads in refugee camps" noting that Algeria "nurture interests in the Atlantic coast."

    The journalist said that after the departure of Spain from the Sahara, which was historically part of Morocco, Algeria supported "Polisario" noting that "at a time when Morocco opens its doors to refugees, Algeria keep them as hostages in its territories."

   Streimer said that "a weak Sahara state will soon become a source of terror threatening extension to all regions especially towards the north."

    He explained that "the autonomy guaranteed under the United Nations and within the State of Moroccan will lead to the establishment of peace in this part of the world," adding that "Germany’s interests favour Moroccan agreement."
