Asharq Al Awsat newspaper said in its Wednesday edition, quoting the same source as saying, that US Secretary of State and the National Security Council were briefed about the project’s details and found that "it was realistic and viable."

    The newspaper highlighted that the source hinted that Washington would support the Moroccan proposal at its submission to the United Nations in April this year.

    The paper thinks that the American perception approaches the Moroccan one on the settlement of the Sahara dispute.

    The Moroccan delegation sent by His Majesty King Mohammed VI has recently briefed senior officials in The US Secretary of State and the White House on the outlines of the Moroccan proposal.
