The newspaper pointed out in an article entitled " the Sahara issue: from settlement plan to self-government" published recently, that the Moroccan proposal, which was finally elaborated, will enable the people of Western Sahara handle their own affairs "within an entity guarantying their security and stability and preserving their rights" in a world moving towards building large conglomerates.
The newspaper highlighted that the latest proposal, which was first announced by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, was reflected by the recently created Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs "as national initiative to close the Moroccan Sahara file".
The article’s author mentioned that the Corcas chairman reaffirmed during a press conference recently held in Rabat that "the Moroccan proposal includes three basic issues: first, preserving of the sovereignty of Morocco, second, ensuring political rights and cultural and economic development of all Moroccan Sahrawis by managing their own affairs, and finally conformity with international legitimacy. "
The article referred to the various historical developments relating to the Sahara issue starting from the Sahara issue plan put forward by the United Nations in 1991 and the obstacles that have faced this scheme by "Polisario", in addition to the Baker plan leading and autonomy.
