Kenya Times: Kenya Times paper highlighted in its edition of Wednesday, January 24, 2007 the increasing support to Morocco's position on the Sahara issue, particularly following the submission of a autonomy plan for the southern provinces. The Kenyan newspaper based on statements made recently by officials in a number of countries who have expressed their support to final and acceptable solution by parties, in accordance with international legitimacy.



Among the officials mentioned the newspaper, there is the President of the parliamentary majority Balbiro Luis Javier Gonzales Posada, who had renewed his country's support for the Moroccan territorial integrity and said that the last vote by the General Assembly of the United Nations on the Sahara issue was "a clear turning point" concerning the autonomy project proposed by Morocco. Peru abstained from voting for the text submitted by Algeria at the General Assembly.

On the other hand, Kenya Times referred to Singapore's support for the efforts made by Morocco in order to find a solution to this issue, a position recently expressed by the Singaporean Minister of State Goh Chok Tong. , The newspaper said, quoting a Singaporean official that the settlement of this issue will open the way for stability and peace in the region, pointing out that his country supports settlement by peaceful means and in accordance with the international law.
