The newspaper said the issue is a real, participatory, transparent and voluntary step in order to encourage the involvement of everyone in the autonomy concept.
The newspaper highlighted in an article by the assistant Editor in Chief, Jeddna Ould deda entitled "Moroccan autonomy project", that
"has been the involvement of the population of the desert in determining their future".
It added that "this same comprehensive dimension has been successfully adopted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the major national issues (reform of the family code and the creation of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission and the National Initiative for Human Development…
(Nouakchott Info) added that another key to success lies in the open and democratic character of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, which contributed to the preparation of this proposal".
It pointed out that "a large majority of the region’s population, with its sensitivities, expressed, through different channels, their support to autonomy as a democratic solution to put an end to this regional dispute".
The Mauritanian newspaper considered that the autonomy proposal is fully included in the democratic project launched by His Majesty the King and supported by the entire Moroccan people.
It mentioned the presence of an unprecedented consensus within the various political Moroccan forces over this proposal, which is in line with the political, social and economic reforms witnessed by the Kingdom since the enthronement of His Majesty the King.
The same source added that the autonomy project is " an experience that will make it possible to find a way out of this costly and protracted issue, which has been impeding the Maghreb construction".
Speaking about the future prospects of the Arab Maghreb Union, (Nouakchott Info) affirmed that the new project is likely to accelerate the pace of re-launching the Maghreb edifice and strengthening regional security.
