Al Raye al Am: The Sudanese newspaper “Al Raye al Am” expressed optimism that autonomy plan for the southern provinces proposed by Morocco would be accepted by parties to the conflict.

In an article published recently under the title "Moroccan proposals lead to acceptable settlement", the newspaper said that the composition of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs meets" tribal representation and balance ... the involvement of new elites and openness to civil society by involving young people and women".

It added that Morocco considers that autonomy within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty and the kingdom’s unity "respond to the Security Council, the United Nations and brotherly and friendly countries.

It added that "political facts on relating to distinguished relations between Morocco and its regional surrounding within the framework of privileged relations with the Arab and Islamic countries and the international community bear several important signs"

The newspaper added that "the Moroccan diplomacy carried out efforts in order to put an end to ‘long tension' created by the Sahara issue since it was introduced to the international legitimacy."

The article reviewed the historical and geographical data on the evolution of the Sahara issue, "being one of the issues imposed by political regional and international reality with all its conflicts and inherent polarization points".
