The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, called on the Polisario Front to join "as soon as possible" the Council created by King Mohammed VI and in the proposal granting self-government for Western Sahara, so as to make "peace, development and decent living definitely "in the region, despite Polisario’s dogmatism inherited from the past“.

In statements to Europa Press, Ould Errachid, visiting Seville with a council delegation" said that “his major mission was to reach agreement with the Polisario Front. Based on first impressions, he said, "The pressure was so strong by the Tindouf camps inhabitants that they will oblige Polisario be more pragmatic and realistic and sign an agreement with us to put an end to this problem, which has lasted so long."

Corcas chief said none of the Council’s members supported independence of the Western Sahara, and that all members "support autonomy", highlighting the council’s desire to include Polisario.

Ould Errachid also denied that the “enlarged” autonomy in the Sahara was against the Polisario Front, particularly since the Council, “is created for all Sahrawis, and does not exclude anyone".

Ould Errachid added that the Council "truns the page of the past, and is a new page for all so as to forget the past tragedies and build a better present and future for peace decent living and development of Sahrawis who are in dire need for this."

According to Corcas head, Sahrawis "suffered a lot, and all solutions didn’t bring about results. It is time to find a result matching the historical demands of Sahrawis, and international legitimacy, allowing everyone to preserve dignity and honor".

Ould Errachid said that the autonomy proposal in Western Sahara that Morocco intends to submit soon seeks "to find a solution without loser in a problem that has lasted for 30 years, allowing both parties to be winner”.

Corcas delegation had already paid a visit to Madrid and the Canary Islands.
