ANSA: the Italian News Agency (ANSA) highlighted the contents of the speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI yesterday, Saturday, in the city of Laayoune, where His Majesty reiterated that Morocco would not let down one grain the Sahara sand.



The agency said that His Majesty the King mentioned that the United Nations believed in the impossibility to apply the UN settlement plan stressing the need to find a negotiated political solution. It pointing out that His Majesty renewed emphasis on Morocco's willingness to work on a political solution that guarantees to the inhabitants of the southern regions to handle their provincial affairs under national sovereignty of Morocco.

It added that His Majesty the King called on the people of the southern regions to seriously and deeply think about their perceptions of autonomy under the sovereignty and the Kingdom’s unity. The Italian Agency pointed out that his Majesty the King emphasized that this project would be the subject of extensive consultations with political parties as well as the region’s residents.  

It said that the royal speech came in the framework of the visit by His Majesty the King to the southern provinces where he supervised the inauguration of many development projects relating to basic equipment. In addition, it said that the royal speech came "two days after the support by three parties belonging to the most important political forces in the country to autonomy proposal to be submitted by Morocco next month to the United Nations."

On the other hand, the news agency reported the amnesty issued by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the benefit of 216 detainees, pointing out that "thirty among these detainees were political activists".
