The participation of the Moroccan delegation, which included elected representatives from the southern provinces at the 51st session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of the Economic Commission for Africa, led to the withdrawal of Polisario representatives from the meeting.


The two elected representatives, Fatima Saida, vice president of the Laayoune Sakia El Hamra Council and Najem Bekkar, President of Tichla commune and member of the Dakhla Oued Eddahab Regional Council, undertook a real campaign of explanation to explain the truly legitimate and authentic representation of the inhabitants of the regions of the Moroccan Sahara in Adis Abeba where the meeting was held from 11 to 15 May 2018.


The two elected officials also opposed the propaganda and misinformation of the opponents of Morocco on the situation of the southern provinces, which eventually forced the representatives of the Polisario front to leave permanently the place where the congress took place, according to "Sahara Zoom".


The conference held under the theme "African Continental Free Trade Area (CAFTA): creating a fiscal space for employment and economic diversification", was also an opportunity for our two elected officials, fruitful explanation on the level of overall development and stability enjoyed by these provinces under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.


Among the themes discussed at this meeting, particularly by a number of experts and ministers from African countries, there are issues related to the realization of the African Free Trade Area.
