Ahmeddou Ould Souilem, a leading founding member of the Algeria-backed separatist movement of Polisario who recently returned to Morocco, said "politically, Polisario does not exist as it acts on Algeria's orders".

"There is only an Algerian Polisario, obeying the orders of Algeria", Ouled Souilem said in an interview carried out Sunday by Spanish newspaper "la Razon".

Algeria resorts to the "sequestration of the Sahrawis" to prevent them from returning to their homeland, Morocco, and thus contributing to its development and progress".

He also denounced the exploitation of the sufferings of the Sahrawis to serve the Algerian strategy. "We have no right to make our sons stateless nomads. They have a country and a future in Morocco," Ould Souilem said, affirming that several Sahrawis are waiting impatiently for the day when they will be allowed to join Morocco in spite of the obstacles posed by Algeria and Polisario.

Touching on the Sahara talks, Ould Souilem said that Polisario is not free to take decisions, hailing Morocco's proposal which he said is "the only option" guaranteeing the sahrawis to run democratically their own affairs.
