Council chairman: the new royal policy in the Sahara does not exclude any region or sector

Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid said that "one of the most important tasks of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs is to study and address the various economic and social problems affecting the southern provinces, thus implementing of the new royal policy which does not exclude any region or social sector."

"Mr. Ould Errachid added that " the Council’s methodology includes a full inventory of state policy since the recovery of the southern provinces to date, in order to retain the positive aspects, address the negative aspects and shape future efficient and sophisticated policy. "

He said: "the project of autonomy is part of the new royal wise and prudent policy, which is directed to all the population, and requires understanding and support in order to ensure the participation of everyone. He pointed out that the Sahara problem is psychologically and economically harmful to everyone, and should be resolved, especially after the military failure of Polisario, and the impossibility to hold referendum based on identification. Therefore there is only autonomy since it is the only applicable solution.
