Sweden is currently examining the Moroccan intiative for the negotiation of an autonomy status in the Sahara region and will soon announce its position concerning the issue, said, here Thursday, Secretary General of the Swedish parliament, Anders Forsberg.




 Forsberg, who is on a three-day visit, was briefed on the broad lines of the Sahara issue during his meeting with the Secretary General of Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs(CORCAS), Maouelainin Ben Khalihanna Maouelainin.

    Earlier on the day, the Swedish official, had discussed, with the Speaker of the House ofRepresentatives (Lower house), Abdelouahed Radi means to consolidate relations between Morocco and Sweden.

    Radi deemed bilateral legislative cooperation "necessary", commending Sweden's economic and political leading model and the role it plays in the Scandinavian region, and in Europe in general. 

    During his meeting with the vice-speaker of the House of Advisors (Upper house), Mohamed Fadili, Forsberg expressed his country's will to reinforce bilateral relations in different fields.

    Fadili highlighted the major political and economic reforms undertaken by Morocco, and which made the kingdom a hub for foreign investments due to its flexible and modern judicial arsenal.

    The two parties also exchanged perspectives on issues related to illegal immigration and terrorism.
