The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, met this Wednesday, April 26 with Alfredo Pacheco, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of an important parliamentary delegation April 23-29.


During this meeting in which took part CORCAS Secretary General, Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khallihenna Maouelainin and Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat, member, Khalihenna Ould Errachid discussed with his host and the delegation accompanying him, the latest developments in the Sahara issue.


CORCAS head highlighted the relevance of the Moroccan solution for the settlement of this conflict in this case autonomy of the Moroccan Sahara, whose text was formulated by the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs and then presented by the Kingdom to the United Nations in 2007. This Moroccan plan has made it possible to break the stalemate on the Sahara issue since the ceasefire in 1991.


This initiative, which is currently the subject of almost unanimous support from the international community, has seen a veritable tidal wave of favorable positions from UN member countries in recent months.


In a statement to M24, the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic has reiterated the consistent position of his country for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.  


As part of this working visit, the speaker of the Dominican Chamber of Deputies and the accompanying delegation held a series of meetings with several Moroccan officials and made field visits to learn about the achievements of the Kingdom.
