The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, met Wednesday, September 11, 2019, with Amadou Soumahoro, Speaker of the National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire, on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a senior delegation.

Corcas head discussed with his Ivorian host the latest developments in the Sahara issue concerning the UN process, as well as the developments concerning this issue at the African level since the return of Morocco to its institutional family (the African Union). The President of the National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire also stressed that his visit to the Council took place in order to express total and absolute support of Côte d'Ivoire to the Kingdom of Morocco and its integrity. He also expressed the implicit and constant support of the leaders and people of Côte d'Ivoire to the political, socio-economic, cultural and diplomatic issues of the Kingdom of Morocco. This unwavering support expresses the depth of the bilateral relations that bind the two countries.During this meeting, which was attended by Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khallihenna Maouelainin, the Secretary General of the Council, the President made a presentation on the Council and its missions, including the fact that it has prepared as a representative body of Saharawis , the autonomy initiative proposed to resolve the Sahara conflict. This initiative was put by Morocco on the United Nations negotiating table in 2007, and considered as a courageous and just solution designed by the Saharawis to manage their affairs themselves -News on Western Sahara / Corcas-
