The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, met on Thursday, March 28, 2019, with Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and with Nguyen Van Giau, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on External Affairs of the Vietnamese National Assembly.


The two Vietnamese officials are currently on a working visit to the Kingdom. The latest developments in the Sahara issue have been the subject of discussions between Corcas chairman and his hosts, together with the presentation of the Council's contribution to the solution of this issue. During these meetings attended by Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khallihenna Maouelainin, and Mr. Ahmed Mghizlat,

Corcas chief explained extended autonomy designed by CORCAS as a representative of Sahrawis. Confirming that this solution is realistic and fair, he said that this project has since its presentation in 2007, is the subject of tribute, including through the resolutions of the United Nations, which qualified it as serious, sincere and courageous.

This project also allows Saharawis to manage their own local affairs within Moroccan sovereignty over its southern provinces.
