During these talks, the exchanges between Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid and his guest focused on the Moroccan Sahara as well as the latest developments concerning the relaunch of the political negotiation process initiated by the United Nations in 2007.
Corcas chief reminded his host that the autonomy initiative elaborated by Saharawis in 2006, and presented by Morocco to the UN in 2007, helped to drive a new dynamic in the negotiation process. He also highlighted the opportunities for economic development between Morocco, including the Sahara region, and the countries of Parlasur namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela.
It should be noted that the Secretary-General of the United Nations and his Personal Envoy in the Sahara are trying to revive the negotiations even if they face a great intransigence on the part of Algeria and Polisario.
Parlasur guest is conducting a working visit to the Kingdom from October 13-17 2018.
