The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, met on Thursday, October 11, 2018, with Patricia Teran Basso, representing Ecuador at the Parliament of the Andean Group.


The parliament of the Andean group includes representatives of the Parliaments of Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Colombia.


The talks between the Corcas head and his guest focused on the latest developments in the Moroccan Sahara issue, particularly at the level of the United Nations and Security Council and the prospects for progress on this issue within the framework of the the current action of the United Nations Secretary-General and his personal envoy in the region, in order to revive the negotiation process.


Corcas head and his guest, who is visiting the Kingdom from October 9-13, discussed the only possible solution to the Sahara, namely autonomy, which is a solution that is at just, courageous and serious recognized by all Security Council resolutions since 2007.


A recognition that is legitimate as autonomy plan, was conceived by Saharawis themselves, who are the first concerned by the conflict, and has the unanimity of the Moroccan people, elites and political institutions .


This meeting took place in the presence of Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khallihenna Maouelainin, CORCAS Secretary General  and Mr. Ahmed Mghizlat, member.
