The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received Thursday at the Council’s headquarters a delegation from the Swedish parliament led by Per Westerberg, Speaker of Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden, who is paying an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.


During this visit, Corcas chairman discussed with his host and the accompanying delegation, the latest developments of the Sahara issue and the history of the conflict.

Mr Khalihenna outlined the important step that Morocco made in socio -economic development and human rights .

Corcas chairman also tackled Morocco’s autonomy proposal  for a final resolution of the conflict in the southern provinces under Moroccan sovereignty , ensuring full political, social, economic and cultural rights of Sahrawis.

The delegation from the Swedish parliament that accompanies Mr. Westerberg , was composed of Monica Green and Carina Hägg, both members of the Social Democratic Party and members of committees of transport and communication and external relations of the Parliament of Sweden.

It also includes Jacobsson Gjörtler, member of the Finance Committee and Jessica Polfjärd from the Committee on Employment , both members of the Moderate Party to which also belongs President Westberg .

The delegation also includes Carl B Hamilton member of the Finance Committee and Liberal Party , as well as Kathrin Flossing CEO of parliament and Karin Flygare Coordinator and Press attaché.

On Corcas side , Dr. Ben Khalihenna Maouelainin Maouelainin , Secretary General of the Council , Mr. Moussaoui Khaddad , Vice -Chairman and Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat Council member took part in the meeting.
