 The settlement of the conflict over the Moroccan Sahara remains dependent on a dialogue between the two real parties which are Morocco and Algeria, said, on Monday in Dakhla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
"A solution will be found when the two real parties sit at the table to agree," said Bourita during a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Expatriates Aïssata Tall Sall, on the occasion of the opening by the Republic of Senegal of a consulate general in Dakhla, stressing that "for Morocco, Algeria is a real party".
Through everything it says and does, its mobilization and its positions, Algeria shows that it is the real party ... It confirms this observation on a daily basis through statements, acts, movements, he said, noting that "Morocco agrees that the solution can only be Moroccan-Algerian".
The Minister noted that Algeria adopts a position and an orientation and constitutes a real party to the conflict, in its creation and its continuation, and, therefore, it must shoulder the responsibility of its settlement to the extent of its responsibility in its creation, adding that the political process has determinants, the main one being that the real party must defend itself in negotiations and not by launching statements.
Bourita indicated, on the other hand, that "by addressing the issue of human rights and MINURSO, the Algerian diplomacy arouses astonishment and sometimes even irony'', considering that the elements of which the Algerian diplomacy talks are erroneous, in the sense that at least a third of the 17 United Nations missions are not interested in human rights, which constitutes a deceit that must be unraveled.
He insisted that "Morocco is clear on this issue, and it is not up to Algeria to talk about human rights ... Maybe it is the last to talk about it", adding that "the role of Minurso could not be clearer and consists only of monitoring the ceasefire".
"Unfortunately, Minurso today suffers from restrictions on its movements. And it will be necessary to wonder about who is hindering the action of Minurso and who is preventing it from monitoring the ceasefire east of the security structure?, he said.
He reaffirmed that "Morocco is committed to the ceasefire, but will respond firmly to any threat to its security and safety", adding that "the Kingdom is attached to the political process and supports constructively the steps taken by the Secretary General of the United Nations in this context".
Bourita noted that Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, "adopts the diplomacy of clarity, because it considers that the contradiction between acts and words discredits diplomatic action, and the production of deceit will not help move the issue forward".
"Now is not the time for maneuvers. Now is the time for serious action if the stability of the region interests Algeria as much as Morocco," he concluded.
